January was a slow start. Amidst COVID and travel and other obstacles, so many goals and aspirations started off sluggishly. I have indeed been writing more, though not every day. I have been tracking my meals, but I’m just not motivated enough to stay under my calorie allotment, and my weight is creeping up rather than down. I am lifting heavier, so perhaps I am building muscle? I hope so, but how can I know? Is it cheating if I switch from a cut to a bulk cycle? On the maker side of things, I did make a vision board and a family photo calendar for the year. I even started planning the itinerary and booking hotels for our summer trip to Japan. Mt. Fuji, here I come!
But am I “generating” things? Am I being more creative? How can you tell if something is going well, if you’re still in the middle of it?
February is a full month. There is Menzies’ birthday, followed by Lunar New Year and Valentine’s, the start of Amelia’s softball season, and our Colorado ski week trip. It is all a lot. There is a hectic energy to this season every year, and yet it still catches me off guard, every year!
Generating things involves energy. It takes gusto and forward motion. These things can be hard. I get that. And, you can still do it. You can find it hard and awkward and even procrastinate on it, but at the end of the day/week/month, you need to find a way through. Do the thing.
